Art Don’t Lie (2026)

Art Don’t Lie is a genre-blending contemporary jazz album where improvisation and electronic textures intertwine with Jewish folk and rhythmic traditions.

Led by Melbourne saxophonist and composer Joshua Moshe, the album moves between expansive ensemble writing and improvisation, shaped by a core eight-piece group recorded in early 2023 and expanded through ongoing studio sessions across 2023 – 2024.

At its centre is a sound world that is both deeply personal and outward-looking, rooted in lineage, migration and tradition, while pushing into contemporary jazz, groove, and electronic production.
The album features a powerhouse ensemble of collaborators including UK/NZ drummer Myele Manzanza, who brings deep rhythmic drive and elasticity to the music, alongside long-time producer and collaborator Lewis Moody, whose production and mixing shape the record’s sonic world.

Across eight tracks (with two digital-only pieces), Art Don’t Lie unfolds as a cinematic, rhythm-driven work with space for each voice in the ensemble to stretch and respond. It blends acoustic ensemble playing with synthesis, percussion traditions, oud, and layered sound design.

Singles include Art Don’t Lie, Binah and Vessel.

Inner Search (2023)

Following a challenging recovery period after completing chemotherapy in late 2021, Joshua Moshe embarked on a transformative musical journey, shedding his band persona and embracing a solo identity. The culmination of this artistic exploration is his debut album ‘Inner Search’, recorded just six months after completing treatment.

From the winner of the 2023 Music Victoria Awards for Best Jazz Release comes Inner Search, a genre-bending journey across 10 tracks recorded with some of Australia's finest musicians.

The Young Ones (2020)

The first release from Joshua Moshe under the moniker “JK GROUP” is The Young Ones. Recorded in 2019 and produced by Lewis Moody, the album is credited by some critics including Chris Gill (Northside Records), as changing the sound of Australian Jazz.

The Young Ones delves into the intersection of modern jazz, breakbeats, fusion, and spiritual jazz in a totally unique way.

Rising EP (2022)

The final release under the moniker ‘JK GROUP’, and awarded The Music Victoria Award for Best Jazz Album, Rising consists of four well-honed tracks of forward-thinking groovy electronica-infused contemporary jazz fusion from Joshua Moshe.
